British women wearing the Hijab a 100 years ago, really?
I couldn’t help it, I just had to leave the following response under the video.
That’s totally untrue, but those women in the video are covering their heads for the very same reason the men and boys are wearing hats... to keep themselves warm.
It was in Church and before God where women covered their heads [not faces] they being the ‘glory of the man’ and to declare before God, angels and men that they were under the covering of a man because of unscrupulous men and the events that took place in Genesis 6. And where the men being made in the very image of God removed their head covering, even their hates that they should not shame Him or the authority He had given them.
1 Corinthians 11:3-7
3 - But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
4 - Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. [God]
5 - But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head [the man:] for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
6 - For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
7 - For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
Please post the authoritative verse that justifies Islam troubling the world with their face veil, else you are simply teaching as the commands of god the traditions of men...
7 - Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
8 - This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 - But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Wherefore the Lord said,
Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth,
and with their lips do honour me,
but have removed their heart far from me,
and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
But let us turn to the Old Testament in the Bible to see what covering the face represented...
13 - And it was told Tamar [Judah’s widowed daughter-in-law,] saying, Behold thy father-in-law goeth up to Timnath to shear his sheep.
14 - And she put her widow’s garments off from her, and covered her with a vail, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah [Judah’s youngest Son] was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife.
15 - When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face.
16 - And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee; (for he knew not that she was his daughter in law.) And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me?
Then to confirm this, when Judah’s friend went to pay Tamar and redeem Judah's pledge...
20 - And Judah sent the kid by the hand of his friend the Adullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman’s hand: but he found her not.
21 - Then he asked the men of that place, saying, Where is the harlot, that was openly by the way side? And they said, There was no harlot in this place.
22 - And he returned to Judah, and said, I cannot find her; and also the men of the place said, that there was no harlot in this place.
23 - And Judah said, Let her take it to her, lest we be shamed: behold, I sent this kid, and thou hast not found her.
So again I ask you, offer the authoritative text to validate the face covering else renounce it.
