A clip taken from The Leak Project regarding Cern.
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
The guy in the video asks the question: What is Love?
And of course the evidence of ‘true love’ itsn’t necessarily that ‘warm fuzzy feeling’ which being rather hit and miss accompanies both true love as well as love feigned for Jesus certainly wasn’t feeling all ‘warm and fuzzy’ as He demonstrated on a Cross the real meaning of Love to a dying World...
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Below is the comment I felt compelled to leave as an answer to the gentleman’s question.
Time-stamp - 13:51 - What do you think Love is?
Those that love God keep His commandments, and those that hate Him refuse:
Exodus 20:5-6 - [Jn 14:23-24]
5 - Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them [other gods], nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 - And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Under the Old Covenant those that hated God, demonstrated by their refusal to keep His commandments which their forefathers had bound them to [Lev 28 - Deut 27-30]. These people suffered [in life] a rebuke directly related to the sins of their unbelieving forefathers up unto the fourth generation while those who loved God and kept His commandments were spared such visitations.
However, we who are under the New Covenant are not bound by such Laws because the Old Covenant is passing away and shall be fully vanquished when the final Seven Year period spoken by Daniel the prophet in Daniel 9 is played-out in our near future.
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
But we reveal our love for Him under the New Covenant by obedience to Jesus who sealed this covenant with us by His precious Blood and not of animals under the Old.
15 - If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 - And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter [The Holy Ghost], that he may abide with you for ever;
And we who love Him will receive his Spirit given to those who obey Him.
And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Even the Spirit of Truth who working with power in those who obey God convert the hearers and we are clearly told shall raise from death all in whom He abides just as He raised Christ in a new glorious, immortal and incorruptible frame never again to see death.
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
To anyone reading this, please don’t fall into the trap of believing that I am encouraging you to think that you can earn your salvation through good works, nor of thinking that your good works done in the flesh supplement your salvation in anyway. The penalty for an individual’s sin is nothing less than the death of that individual, and if that person died without receiving Christ then they can by no means ever rise to eternal life.
The good works of those who have been made righteous by accepting Christ’s payment for sin, DO NOT SUPPLEMENT IN ANY WAY THEIR SALVATION but are the normal and healthy outworking of their gratitude with joy at being saved by the sacrifice of Christ at Calvary.
However, by God’s grace, the Christian’s good works will indeed receive a reward in the coming Kingdom [Matt 6:10] for we must all (yes, even us who believe) stand at the Judgement Seat of Christ to give an account of what we did with this life since we believed...
2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all [believers] appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Here it is not being determined what part of Hell we are worthy of being cast into, as with the wicked at the Great White Throne Judgement [Rev 20:11-15] but rather what rewards shall be bestowed upon us as we enter the Kingdom. Additionally, it should be noted that those believers who hid their faith during life shall suffer loss but shall nevertheless be saved.
1 Corinthians 3:13-15
13 - Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 - If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 - If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Then this love of which I speak overcomes the World unto salvation, and this through obedience to He whose love is unquestionable having been demonstrated before the World upon a Cross.
1 John 5:2-4
2 - By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 - For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 - For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
8 - Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9 - And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
