The Millennium and Salvation

Acts 1:6-7
6 - Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
7 - He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.”

I began to write the following in response to a question on youtube, but with it being so long and the possibility that it might help others decided to post it here.

The person I was debating with was struggling with my assertion that some of this fallen flesh survives the coming catastrophe to repopulate the Millennium. This might be because it is easy to confuse the survival of the Second Coming with those who received salvation.
However surviving the coming catastrophe does not qualify anyone for salvation but the acceptance of Jesus who took all of our sins away. Those who survive the coming catastrophe will not only stand at the judgement of the Sheep and the Goats, with many cast out of the kingdom but will also have to face death and judgement, just as it is written...

Hebrews 9:27
And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,

OK here we go...
[I hope to tidy it up later, but then I always say that.]

We who believe shall enter the Millennium immortal and incorruptible, whilst the tiny few who survive the coming catastrophe shall enter mortal and corruptible, clearly seen by their rebellion and death at the end of the Millennium, just before eternity begins.

Revelation 20:7-9
7 - When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison
8 - and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore.
9 - They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.

Therefore they shall die to face judgement, some of whom will be found in the Book of Life because although they didn’t accept Jesus in this age, they with a few born in that Kingdom did during the Millennium.

Revelation 20:15
Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

My understanding of the Millennium is not some strange new doctrine but widely accepted, both by present day Christians and of those of the past.

What I shall now ‘attempt’ to do is reveal the age that follows this age in Scripture[The Millennium] where a few having survived the coming catastrophe repopulate this present Earth, there to be ruled over by Christ the King... whose Jewish Kingdom shall encompasses the whole Earth.

This Kingdom lasts a thousand years, in which time the saved will rule over the Earth with Jesus...

Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death [Hell] has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.

On this Earth, and not another.

Revelation 5:10
“You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

While Satan and his Angels are detained in the Abyss...

Revelation 20:1-3
1 - And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain.
2 - He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
3 - He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.

So there appears to be a thousand year period following this present age, but where does Scripture speak of an age where sin still exists because fallen mortal men still walk the Earth?

Consider what Jesus meant when He said...

Matthew 19:28-29
28 - Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me [The Disciples] will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 - And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.

And Paul when He likewise said...

Acts 3:19-21
19 - Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
20 - and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus.
21 - Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.

both Jesus and Paul are clearly speaking of some kind of restoration at the return of Jesus...

In Isaiah 65:17 we read...

Isaiah 65:17
“See, I will create New Heavens and a New Earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.”

Unfortunately most believe this New Heavens and New Earth is the eternal one mentioned in Revelation 21:1 which it clearly is not.

Revelation 21:1
Then I saw “a New Heaven and a New Earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

Because in THIS regenerated New Heaven and New Earth we are clearly informed that children born and death and sin still exist...

Isaiah 65:20
There shall be no more thence an child who lives a few days, nor an old man that has not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

What Isaiah 65:20 is telling us is:
That children shall not die as they have in this age, and if a sinner should die aged one hundred years of age... he shall be considered accused to have died so very young!

Therefore the age Isaiah is speaking of is not the New Heavens and the New Earth spoken of in Revelation 21, because we see there children being born, contradicting Jesus’ teaching of the eternal order...

Matt 22:30
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

It also contains death, which distinguishes it from the eternal New Heavens and New Earth spoken of again in...

Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

And that there will be no more sin in the eternal order goes without saying, which only dwells in this age and the Millennium to follow, this because of the presence of mortal corruptible flesh, which being unruly must be ruled with a rod of iron during the Millennium.

Revelation 12:5
And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne.

Another place in Scripture where the Millennium is spoken of is in Isaiah 66:22, where once again we are told of a New Heaven and a New Earth, which again are clearly not the eternal Heavens and Earth of Revelation 21:1 because we see within it, fallen flesh...

Isaiah 66:22-24
22 - “As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me,” declares the Lord, “so will your name and descendants endure.
23 - From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh will come and bow down before me,” says the Lord.
24 - “And they will go out and look on the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; the worms that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all flesh.”

Again, in Isaiah 11 we hear of children being born in the Millennium and a change in the nature of animals, as they were before the Flood.

Isaiah 11:8
The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.

As well as there still being a sea, or seas...

Isaiah 11:9
They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Something we are told will not exist in the eternal New Heavens and Earth.

Rev 21:1
...for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

When did these heavens and Earth pass away? [The temporal that we currently walk.]

Revelation 20:11
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it.
The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.

So we have mentioned in Scripture the regeneration of this Earth, where all animals are vegetarian and the lifespan of mankind is greatly extended to mirror the time before the Flood. A period where Jesus reigns over a Jewish Kingdom from His throne in Jerusalem... with all of those found worthy in this age, and this over fallen flesh, that having survived the coming catastrophe repopulate this Earth and not another. And all this while Satan and his angels remain confined to the Abyss.

Thus within this Kingdom we have...
  1. We saved incorruptible immortals [Christians], who shall reign with Jesus for a thousand years.
  2. Fallen fleshly Gentiles who survived the coming catastrophe to repopulate the kingdom.
  3. Fallen mortal Jews who likewise survived the coming catastrophe.
  4. Resurrected Jews.

But how did they all get there?

• The righteous via the first resurrection, made immortal and incorruptible [Revelation 20:6]...

1 Corinthians 15:55

Revelation 5:10
“You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

• Mortal Gentiles who survived the coming catastrophe...

Isaiah 13:12
I will make mortal man scarcer than pure gold, and mankind than the gold of Ophir.

Isaiah 2:19
Men will go into caves of the rocks And into holes of the ground Before the terror of the LORD And the splendour of His majesty, When He [Jesus] arises to make the earth tremble.

Micah 7:17
they shall lick the dust like a serpent, like the crawling things of the earth; they shall come trembling out of their strongholds; they shall turn in dread to the LORD our God, and they shall be in fear of you.

Zechariah 14:16
Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that went [to fight] against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths.

Matthew 24:22
“Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.”

• And the mortal Jews will be regathered by the surviving Gentiles, and taken to Jerusalem...

Isaiah 11:11
In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people [THE JEWS] from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush,b from Elam, from Babylonia,c from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean.

Jerusalem 31:8
“Behold, I am bringing them from the north country, And I will gather them from the remote parts of the earth, Among them the blind and the lame, The woman with child and she who is in labor with child, together; A great company, they will return here.

• And of cause those Jews of old, whom having never received the promise in their life time will receive it at the resurrection of the just...

Hebrews 11:18
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

Hebrews 11:13
..still believed All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; [in their life] they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.

Luke 13:28
“In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out.”

Likewise shall we via the faith of Abraham alsoreceive our reward, when we hear the words...

Matthew 25:21
‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; [therefore] I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!‘”

The promised Jewish Kingdom is on this Earth, where we shall reign with Christ over mortal man for a thousand years, until eternity begins. This truth is all over the Old Testament which is what inspired the Disciples to ask their question in Acts 1:6-7, the joy of which drives me onward that I might receive my crown...

James 1:12
Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

1 Corinthians 3:8-15 and 2 Corinthians 5:10 in the same context as the coming Kingdom.

Six days we are told to work, and to rest one. The Jews were commanded to work the land six years and then to give it a years sabbath rest... likewise the Earth has suffered six thousand years of unrighteous Man ruling over it, but soon it shall have its sabbath rest when Christ our King rules supreme over planet Earth for one thousand years.

2 Timothey 2:12
If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
