The Bible, the Koran and the Disillusioned.

Proverbs 11:3
The integrity of the upright will guide them,
But the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them.

Outside of the monotheistic faiths [Judaism, Christianity and Islam] people judge as they see fit, someone dishonours you and so you dishonour them, another punches you in the face so you punch them back harder… revenge is the order of the day and not forgiveness. Some might feign God’s approval for revenge by quoting…

Exodus 21:24-25
24 - eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25 - burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.

Conveniently forgetting that Jesus said…

Matt 5:38-39
38 - “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’
39 - But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.

And although good parenting is of great worth...

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

...the majority of people today in the United Kingdom get their values from Hollywood, or worse still the likes of East Enders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Where like good students they sit attentively before their tutor to be trained by ‘the god of this age’, whom having qualified then go out and practice what they have been taught.

But what I really want to explore here is how the Christian and Muslim respond when wronged, and why they two might differ in their response to injustice. But first let us acknowledge that the vast majority of society want nothing more than to prosper, live in peace and joy in the raising their family, and that goes for the Christian as well as the Muslim, just as it does for the rest of society.

However, although we all suffer seasons when life is hard, in time they pass and we move on. But what of those, especially the youth whose life is nothing but a continuous struggle, who having suffered horrible injustices and humiliations can find no respite from their situation. And having left no stone unturned can not drag themselves out of the gutter in which they dwell? Well we all know that those without any faith, often [By no means always] resort to the comforts of drugs and alcohol, having first exhausted all legal and illegal efforts to better their lot… from legitimate government start-up schemes to the outrages of crime. But what of the Christian and the Muslim… how will they respond to the same frustrations? For indeed, no faith group is excluded from such evils.

To explore this I would like to forward the following fictitious scenario...

Twins are brought-up in the most horrible circumstances, suffering sexual abuse at home they find little respite at school, where mocked constantly for their poverty and shabby dress they wander the playing-ground alone seeking a friendly face, but receive only hatred and rejection. Domestic violence is common place and the saturday night drunken scenes, every weekend’s low.
Understandably as soon as they are of age they flee the family home expecting to find relief… yet social misfits they struggle to fit in wheresoever they go. Poverty stricken, unable to secure a liveable wage they live in humiliation while others bloom. And to compound their misery their only girlfriend runs off with the landlord to better her lot. Finally falling behind with the rent, their gloating landlord casts them out, and that before their ex-girlfriend.
Now upon fleeing the family home, each had previously sought God, one turning to Christ and the other Allah… What then will be the result of each turning to their Holy Book under such tragic circumstances?

Surely we can comprehend their anger, hatred and despair? A future without hope sprawling out before them, whispering out threats of lonely degradation, shame and horror? In such a dark pit of despair even death might appear more preferable than life… and the barrel of a gun far less frightening that stepping outside of the door.
Although fictitious, such circumstances are not entirely uncommon in Cameron’s Britain, especially since our once self-proclaimed ‘Ox-bridge elite’ wrecked the economy with their greed and misadventures, whom have revealed themselves to be… but men.

Let us consider then each twin as he reaches for his Holy Book, seeking guidance and a way out of the furnace that has been his life. Alone, deserted and spurned by society he sits by the window as a flourishing World... passes him by.

The Christian.
Powerless to remedy the injustice suffered, humiliated he searches the scriptures to find anything that might heal his wound and comfort his aching heart. “Revenge” is foremost in his mind, but if leaving this World with a ‘bang’ will give his ‘seemingly’ worthless life some kind of meaning… why he would embrace it with open arms and as a long lost friend. But search as he might he can not find anything to feed such dark desires... and though hatred demands action, there is nothing here for it to feed on. But rather out of those pages springs a light, another way… even a ray of hope and a gap in the wall that he might pass through, and escape the prison that was once his home.

Matthew 5:43-45
43 - “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’
44 - But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
45 - that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Whom ‘if’ he is obedient the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will send him the promise of The Spirit… that though surround by trouble he will find rest in the very centre of the storm, even in the stillness of its eye.

John 14:25-27
25 - “All this I have spoken while still with you.
26 - ...the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I [Jesus/the Word] have said to you.
27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 16:33
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

This is the heritage of the believer, and the rest for his soul. For though he might search, the New Testament Christian can not find ‘one text’ in the whole of Scripture to justify killing, maiming or abusing anyone in the name of ‘revenge’.
Some may falsely quote commands once given to the Jews as a cloak to carry-out their will upon others, but their apostasy is soon known by those who know their God. For such wicked men can not quote one New Covenant scripture in context to justify their actions, nor can any say Christ’s commands encouraged them. [Something that can’t be said of the words of Allah]

The Muslim.
Here I will again state, that the vast majority of Muslims [In the UK] want nothing more than to live in peace, prosper and raise a family.
But what of our abused Muslim twin, what shall he find when he turns in his misery towards the Koran as he seeks revenge or an excuse to exits this life with some grand statement, giving his woeful life a sort of perverse meaning at its end?

Why he need not look very far at all, in fact he can not only find numerous scriptures in the Koran to justify revenge, but scriptures that not only secure his eternal salvation but wonderful fleshly rewards for say detonating a explosive jacket in the midst of a crowd of men, women and children. What a temptation to those either struggling with sin and the resulting condemnation, or whose life has become so burdensome... that they long to be free of it!

An-Naba 78:31-34 [Rewards for Martyrs]
“Verily, for the righteous, there will be a success (paradise); gardens and grape-yards; and young full-breasted maidens of equal age; and a full cup (of wine)”

And if they merely wish revenge, why there are hundreds of text to choose from, here are but a few examples.

Qur’an 9:29
Fight against Christians and Jews ”until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low.”

Qur’an 4:91
If the unbelievers do not offer you peace, kill them wherever you find them. Against such you are given clear warrant.

Qur’an 9:12-14
Fight the disbelievers! Allah is on your side; he will give you victory.

Qur’an 9:5
Kill the nonbelievers wherever you find them.

Now let me summarise what I am saying.
Although there are certainly more underprivileged Christians from poor and abusive backgrounds than Muslims here in the UK [the percentages demand it, far more Christians than Muslims], there has not been one occasion where a Christian has justified murder or an other atrocity by quoting the Words of Jesus. Why? because it can not be done. Nor in fact does the New Covenant drive any to do such things nor can it, but on the contrary it commands forgiveness which leads the obedient soul to seek the path of peace and life.

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Mark 11:26
“But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.”

But what do we find from the tiny, but ever growing disillusioned section living among our Muslim community? We find hate-filled rantings on the street, whom holding placards quoting the Koran, spit out death, murder, oppression and atrocities against almost all their countrymen, and all in the name of Allah.

The British face of Islam.

We see beheadings, bombings and threats and not a few. Week after week, month after month and year after year, planes are grounded, diverted and searched. Anti-terror police wearing balaclavas fearful of their own countrymen living among them. We suffer loss of our liberties that the police might contain this madness.

The problem isn’t Muslims per se, but ‘that Book’ and the way it ‘pampers to the darker side of those living in despair’, offering reward for death, murder and oppression. Yet time and time again Christians are associated with the fruits of violent Islam merely because we share the word ‘faith’ with them, two different meanings which in truth are so far apart, that it can not be fathomed.

The end of the matter is this, that each book has a different author bringing forth H/his own fruits. You decide who the author of each is, and remember “you will recognise them by their fruits”.

Matthew 7:15-20
17 ...every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire [Hell].
20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Personally I believe that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the author of the Bible. [The God of the Jews]

Matthew 22:32a \ Exodus 3:6
I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob
[Jacob’s name was changed to Israel - Genesis 32:26-28]

Confirmed by Jesus when He said...

John 4:22
You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews.

But you must make your own decision whom the god of Abraham’s son Ishmael is, who was born not of faith but of unbelief. But know this, that the God of the Bible is unquestionable not the god of the Koran, for the Koran states categorically that its god has no son.

Sura 72:3
And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - has taken neither wife nor son,

But the God of the Bible is the Father and Jesus is His Son! Anyone who denies this... is led by the spirit of antichrist.

1 John 2:22
Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist--denying the Father and the Son.

Proverbs 30:4
Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Whose hands have gathered up the wind? Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is the name of his son? Surely you know!

The testimony of ‘Mosab Hassan Yousef’... the son of the West Bank’s Hamas leader, who became horrified at the death, misery and killing justified by the words from the Koran. And turning to the Bible found Christ, mercy and forgiveness, who suffering death threats in his new home of Israel... preaches Christ and exposes the Satanic foundation of Islam
